Twist Puppy Double Axis Portable Yarn Spinner🐩

I designed this Twist Puppy Double Axis Portable Yarn Spinner because I wanted to make a crochet tool that feels cute, useful, and a little surprising when you open it.

It looks like a tiny puppy accessory at first, but with one simple twist, it opens into 2 yarn spinners. You can place your yarn on the rods and start crocheting right away. It is small enough to carry in your project bag(8cm/3.15 inches), and cute enough to hang on your bag like a little decoration.I wanted it to be something you can take to a cafe, a trip, a crochet meetup, or just keep beside you when you crochet at home.

Why I made it double axis

The double axis design lets you use two yarn balls at the same time.It is helpful for double strand crochet, colorwork, small projects with two colors, or simply keeping two yarns neat while you work. Instead of having your yarn rolling around on the table or getting tangled in your bag, this little yarn holder helps keep things calmer and more organized.It is a portable yarn spinner, but also a tiny yarn organizer for everyday crochet.

Small size, but made for more yarn types

Although this puppy yarn spinner is very small and portable, I did not want it to only work with tiny yarn balls.

It works well with small and medium yarn balls, and each spinner also comes with an extension platform. The extension platform can make the base wider, so larger yarn cakes can sit more comfortably while you crochet.

This makes it more flexible than a regular mini yarn holder. You can use it for small yarn cakes, medium yarn balls, and some larger yarn cakes when the extension base is added.

Stronger aluminum alloy rods

The rods are made from custom aluminum alloy with a combinable extension design.

I chose this because I wanted the rods to be more durable and less easy to break during daily use. The extendable rod design also means taller yarn cakes can be used more comfortably.

Aluminum is lightweight and comfortable to carry, which is why I chose it for this portable yarn spinner. Regular aluminum can sometimes darken over time, so I had these rods specially customized by a factory. Each rod goes through multiple finishing steps, including anodizing, polishing and sandblasting,to help keep the color stable and prevent it from turning black easily.

You can combine the rods depending on your yarn height, so the spinner can adjust better to different yarn sizes.

Each Twist Puppy Yarn Spinner is printed in small batches in my studio.
